Thanks for sharing such an inspiring story, Steve. How cool that you applied what was working as a vintage motorcycle racer to your life in sobriety!

Thanks, Dana! Yeah, it was amazing how quickly fear and attention management gave me the stability to enjoy personal and professional challenges.

Steve, your story is very inspiring. I love when it finally clicked how you knew what you needed in early sobriety to get the job done. And look at the gifts in return!!! 🙏💕

Steve, your story hit me like a revving engine. I’m a Peer Recovery Specialist from Czechia, 13 years sober, and I spend my life in the garage fixing bikes and 'internal hardware.'

Your part about applying track-side attention management to life’s chaos is pure gold. My path was a bit of a flip: I used to be a police officer, the one hauling drunks and criminals in the back of the car. Then I became the one in the back seat myself.

Today, I use both — the discipline of the cop and the raw reality of my own relapse and recovery — to help others. I’m just about to start sharing more of these 'Cop vs. Peer' stories from the garage.

Thanks for the inspiration and for showing that vintage bikes and sobriety are the perfect therapy. Keep the shiny side up! 🛠️🏍️

Thanks, Petr! It was cool to read about your backstory. Also great to learn that we also share a passion for bikes and the peace that can come from motorcycle mechanics. The garage has always been kinda my sacred space. Yeah, applying what had made me successful on the track to sober life expansion has allowed me to embrace opportunities and experience a life that I would never have thought possible. I can't begin to express how grateful I am for that.

The garage has been part of my sobriety — the focus, the hands-on work, the quiet that comes when you're deep in an engine. Nobody calls it meditation, but that's exactly what it is. Glad we share that, Steve.

It is indeed, Petr!
