I hope to be in bed by my usual 10pm this New Year’s… but live in a rural village in Thailand where loud celebrations, music, and fireworks will likely go on until morning 😭. My heart is filled with gratitude for this past year, this moment, what lies ahead. Also for sober connections and community - thank you all ❤️
Good luck with the fireworks. I remember spending NYE in Shanghai one year and in Honolulu another year and in both of those amazing places the sound and smoke from the fireworks was endless for 24 hours.
Love you Dana. Thanks for all you do for this community and may you carry forward so many gentle and profound blessings into 2026. 🙏
I just celebrated my 2nd year sobriety date on 12/26. I work as a pharmacist from 2-10 New Years Eve so no major plans at my home. If I was off, I probably would have decked out a charcuterie board, played board games, and watched comedy movies with the fam. Instead, this year I will just be grateful to be laying on the couch after a no break 8-hour shift. Drink my alc free sparkling wine and clink glasses with whomever is up at midnight ( I have three boys and a hubby). Being home is the best. So relaxing. No performance. You can just be yourself and I prefer that!
Thank you so much. It's a job that's so important and I love serving the community. I realize the strength it takes to do what I do. Keeps me on the sober track.
