Track your days, complete your sober challenge in community
Welcome to Sober October! We’re so happy you’re here!
Sober October started more than a decade ago as a way to raise money for people with cancer. Since then, it’s grown into a global movement, inspiring people all over the world to give up alcohol for the month and try out a sober lifestyle.
If you’re already sober, this is a chance to celebrate your sobriety, refresh your commitment, or simply enjoy Sober October events and enthusiasm.
If you’ve fallen off in your sobriety, we’ve got you. This is the perfect opportunity to start again and get back on track in community. It’s never, ever too late.
If you’re not sober but are sober curious and have been considering giving sobriety a try, now’s the time! October falls right before the holidays, when you’ll want to feel your best (and when getting sober is often more challenging).
If you *just* want to boost your health and energy, improve your sleep, and look and feel better by taking a break from booze, fantastic! Whether or not you return to drinking after this month, it will offer valuable insights into how alcohol (and its absence) impacts your body and mind.
Track Sober October with Sober App!
To support you in this alcohol-free challenge, we’ve added a special Sober October Tracker in our latest release of Sober App.
This is a great way to track your sober days, get external accountability, and celebrate your wins. It’s also a fantastic opportunity to connect with others, feel less alone, and make this month fun!
To participate in Sober October on Sober App, simply download the app, create a profile, and start tracking your sober days. You can do that here:
What are the benefits of doing Sober October?
Everyone’s experience of sobriety is different. But potential benefits of going alcohol free include:
Improved memory and focus
Higher, more sustained energy
Reduced depression and anxiety
Less moodiness and more optimism
Improved sleep quality
Improved immune function
Improved hormone regulation
Improved metabolism and reduced water retention
Reduced risk of cancer and cognitive decline
And that’s only the beginning, because committing to sobriety for 31 days is an invitation to:
Investigate your relationship with alcohol with honesty and without judgment.
Take a closer look at other things in your life that aren’t serving you or no longer feel aligned (and that maybe you’ve been using alcohol to escape or numb out).
Explore how to have fun, be creative, connect with others, and deepen your relationships in a fully present, truly authentic way. (We promise—it’s 100 percent possible without alcohol!)
Community makes sobriety easier.
Giving up alcohol for a month (or beyond) can be challenging, but it doesn’t have to be miserable. What makes it easier, more likely to stick, and even fun? Finding a network of support and community.
Sober App is designed for exactly that, helping you build new habits, stay motivated, and connect with others through community features.
If you’re on a sobriety journey (or just experimenting for Sober October) this is a place to connect, learn, and feel seen and supported.
