Thanks for being here, everyone! Be sure to share your favorite sober links in the comments, including your own if you’re alcohol-free. Happy Sober October and AF cheers! 😊
Hi, I'm a bit late to the party, but I'd like to throw my hat in the ring for the next time (maybe sober Christmas or dry Jan). I'm 2.5 years sober. My Substack is all about mid-life sobriety, Half-time Team Talk: calling time on booze, bets and bad habits. For those curious about the path less chosen in the second half of life. Below is an example of my work 😊
You’re so welcome. And reach out if you’d like submission guidelines - we’re always looking for guest contributors! You can find the email linked in the footer at the bottom of this and all posts.
Thank you for mentioning my memoir on this wonderful list. The way you lift the voices of others up is brilliant, Dana. I love how this isn’t just the big names that everyone has already heard but lots of new and emerging voices. We are all so different as are our experiences. There is something here for everyone. Just lovely.
You’re so welcome, Julie. It truly fills my heart seeing so many different - yet somehow kindred - voices here together. And I suspect it increases the chances of someone, upon landing here, finding a voice that resonates deeply with their own experience. ❤️
Dana! You are incredible. Thank you so much for the link, and *also* for introducing me to some new (to me) sober voices. I love this beautiful community, what a light. A non-alcoholic cheers to you!
There's so much great work happening in this community. Thanks for giving us an opportunity to shout about it, Dana!
My latest offering is a FREE trauma-informed yoga class which is happening next Monday. It's a class about finding a new way to inhabit our bodies, and deepening into the somatic experience of being alive. Even if yoga isn't your thing, or you're working around injuries or other limitations, you are very welcome to join us.
Thank you so much for including me here Dana! I didn't get the notification that I'd be mentioned - and didn't get one for the previous Sober App one either, which is weird.. I only saw this as Allison Deraney shared it in Notes.
I have done a lot of dry humping on my sober journey! It's so much more fun. I've also started a new job and I have been writing about. I haven't even mentioned my sobriety in it, because it is really starting to just feel a normal part of who I am now.
Thanks so much for the shout out, Dana. The Artist's Way was such a special experience earlier this year. Not drinking really allows me to tap into my body's deeper intelligence, wisdom and creativity which made The Artist's Way feel even more profound.
I'm looking forward to exploring many of the other great resources you've collated here. 💕
That makes so much sense about The Artist’s Way. Now I want to do it again, because I read that book and The Artist’s Way at Work years ago, when I wasn’t yet sober. Knowing that Julia Cameron is sober and wrote it from that perspective holds all new meaning for me now. Thank you for being here and for your work in the world, Clare! 💕
Thank you Dana for continuing to build a beautiful community that holds space for folks at any point of the alcohol free journey. Incredible resources and list of folks doing fantastic work. I may have missed it, but want to share Creative Sobriety from Kristen Bear - her writing is soulful: https://kristenbear.substack.com/?utm_source=global-search

Wow, this is amazing. Thank you so much. I choked on my porridge when I saw “dry humping.” That’s hilarious.
Thanks for being such a supportive, inspiring presence here, Adam! Isn’t that title great? And the book is so good!
“Dry Humping” has to be the best title ever. Winner winner

Fantastic! Thanks for being here and sharing, Niall.
Many thanks, Dana. I think this is a fantastic idea to bring all the sober Substacks together. I would love to be part of it going forward.

Thanks for offering such beautiful, supportive resources, Mia.
October is the start of a change of seasons, a good time to recommit to a sober life.
Yes!

You’re so welcome, Ellie! That’s weird about the notification - not sure why that’s happening.
