I'm in recovery from perfectionism, but have struggled with numbing with food, sex, alcohol, busyness, and games on my phone. I don't believe in a higher power per se, but I do seek ways to surrender, acceptance, and presence, all which help me feel my feelings and allow me to sit with my discomfort. It's not perfect, but it works for me. Addiction is a sneaky beast that is less obvious when you're not falling down drunk. Thanks for sharing your story, Jo.

You have hit upon a great Truth, and I know this post will help many! I am also in recovery (from alcohol, dry goods, and relationships), and it appears that this conscious contact with the All-That-Is is the answer to every dilemma that comes my way! What a beautiful thing your humility is, to save you from a lifetime of bondage. Very few people can see the patterns.

Thank you, Jo, for this enlightening post. I love your moniker "My Great Love" for the Power that can save us all! nora ann

It seems addiction is a good liar, no matter what form it takes.
