"These aren’t just habits; they’re sacred rituals that have transformed how creativity moves through me." I love this, Josh. I’m so glad you walked us through your daily routines - how they serve as a wellspring for both your creativity and your sobriety.
Great write lots of interesting points...I think we get snippets of our creativity under the influence and we feel the drink is our support system and helps us create good work, but really that's only the tip of the ice berg of what we can create, being sober gives us the chance to open up our minds not just for our creative side but in many ways, I like where you said you were always asking " why " and searching for answers...and sometimes there just weren't any, this I resonate with as I always felt there had to be an answer or a reason for things that happened and of course we dont always get answers so this I couldn't settle for....Ty
Aw thank you Liz! We so want an answer to things. To feel complete, or closure. The check mark. It’s hard practice at times to let go of the why. Wishing you a beautiful day! 🙏🏻
I really appreciate this piece. I’ve recently realized how I’ve kept myself distracted from my creativity by seeking distraction and numbness elsewhere. Reminding myself that this - a sustainable creative practice - could be on the other side of seeking sobriety is what will help me get there.

When you find yourself nodding and smiling (while reading) with parallel life without alcohol experiences ~ All I can say is: Well Said!
I see you Peter! Nodding my head back at ya. 🙏🏻

Absolutely Claire! It was challenging at first, but there is no way I would go back. This is too good now. Wishing you a beautiful weekend!
