I love this, Adam. I resonate strongly with your emphasis on choice and how our daily choices add up to shape our reality and our trajectory. Thank you for sharing and inspiring!
Oh, man. The part about you and Danielle got me in tears, Adam.
There’s something about forgiveness that moves me so much. I imagine it’s the desire to feel forgiven for how much I worried my family with my partying.
I’m probably only aware of a fraction of the pain I caused her—in terms of the strain on her life when we were together, and in the worry of not knowing anything about me for 3 years after we parted ways.
I’m the luckiest man alive to share a world with Danielle.
Nice one Maggie. The book is useful. It’s a bit old fashioned and in some parts, very shaky theory (I wasn’t having the genetics hypothesis or that there’s only 5 needs). But on the whole there are some good principles to extract and explore further.
Almost at 90 days and I just figured out how my unmet needs were/are affecting me. Thank you for sharing your story, Adam. I have enjoyed your writing and I'm so happy you made it out of addiction!
Your journey is truly inspiring, Adam. Turning profound challenges into a life of purpose and love is a testament to your strength. Thank you for sharing your story - it’s a beacon of hope for anyone facing addiction and seeking recovery.
Great share, Adam. Thank you for bringing it here. I relate very much to this: “I was surprised by how accessible peace was to me if I simply chose it.” For me, accepting that all of this is my choice and my responsibility was the game changer and the secret sauce.
Thank you Allison. I think peace is there if you choose it, but it’s also there because of the other 1000 choices made that day that are conducive to it.
The secret sauce—hey I like it. Sounds like we’re very much on the same page in that regard. Thank you for sharing.
Such a great story, Adam. Brave and courageous, and your perspective on choice(s) I think is very refreshing. Well done man! It’s been great to follow your journey now through a joyful life.

Thank you Randy. Yeah I think it was a kinda bold move, but a necessary one for me.
I appreciate your feedback, as always. Blessings!
So courageous and so good. Your pain is going to and has already helped many, Adam. Proud to be getting to know you.
Wow thank you, Holly.
The feeling is mutual. Pleasure to be getting to know you too.
Bloody amazing

Luckiest man alive to be forgiven.

Inspiring story Adam, very interesting to hear about Choice Theory too as it seems to be a theory around what I've been thinking for a while.
Nice one Maggie. The book is useful. It’s a bit old fashioned and in some parts, very shaky theory (I wasn’t having the genetics hypothesis or that there’s only 5 needs). But on the whole there are some good principles to extract and explore further.
Of course, I'm just going off of a quick summary I've found just now. But the foundation of it is interesting.
I appreciate your voice, Adam. Similar to your experience, very early on, I adopted a mantra. "Drinking is not an option." It has served me well.
Thank you, Tom.
Mine is very similar: “permission is always no.” Also served me well. I have an article on it called “I could relapse.”
Appreciate your feedback as always Tom.
Such an inspiring story that has the potential to help so many people. Thank you for sharing your journey!
Thank you for reading, Darcy.
Hopefully it will help someone somewhere.
