Dana… Many thanks for the mention & shoutout & I hope this year brings many more people suffering from any kind of addiction into the world of sobriety 🤞😌🤞. Happy New Year to you & your family… From Australia ✌️🥳🎆🇦🇺
When I remember how close I came to dying in that car crash that helped turn my life around (for the better), all I hope is that I may be able at least help someone change their lives around from addiction.
Thank you for sharing these thoughts and advice, I'm feeling very inspired to start my month of no alcohol. I'm feeling quite uplifted right now, a good start to the month and year!
Thanks for the words of encouragement and wisdom! Attempting to start 2025 alcohol free - Pray for me! Time to restart my book(s) I haven't opened in several years - This Naked Mind and Quit Like a Woman. Leaving my job of 13 years and starting a new one in a week and want to make sure I'm my best self and able to succeed. Alcohol might just be the one thing that could totally eff that up. Here's to new beginnings!
Cheering you on, Evelyn - and so glad you’re here. This Naked Mind and Quit Like a Woman are so great. Both were pivotal for me in early sobriety. Wishing you a beautiful start to your new job and new beginning!
This a brilliant format of sharing others' perspectives. Love it! The thing that comes up for me is the line I've heard around recovery circles "If I settled for what I came here for (granted they're referring to working a recovery program, not just staying "dry") I would have short changed myself." The implication there is that recovery can involve personal growth, transformation, spiritual development—however you want to phrase it. It's helped me become a way better person that i would wouldn't become had I not need to get into recovery to save my life.
Yes! So beautifully put, Jim. Recovery really can and does impact every aspect of us and every part of our lives. Thank you for being here and sharing.
It is truly an honor to be included among such wise and beautiful sober voices. I will be coming back over and over to reread the wisdom shared here. Thanks, Dana, for being here, for creating such a supportive community and for the invitation and inclusion here.
There is so much thoughtful, encouraging wisdom in here. Thank you, Dana! I so wish I’d had something like this all those times I’d tried (and failed) at Dry January in the past! I felt so alone at the time. Today, it’s incredible to see the kindness and support right here, within this community. Happy sober new year everyone!
Keep doing God's work, Dana! May this be a wonderful year of presence and growth. Keep it up! And of course, thank you so much for the mention, my friend, it's very kind
Thanks so much for sharing, everyone. Wishing you a beautiful, sober New Year!
Thanks for the shout out 😊
Thank you for your contribution, Dee! The tip you offered was very resonant: focusing on health was a huge support for me in early sobriety.

Consider working with a coach. I worked with Anne Marie at Thirsty for Wonder. Am three years sober now and never going back.

take a trip to the other side
with me there’s no compromise
reach out to a pal of mine
give in to my child side
we shine on
we move on
we march on
we move up
